Happy Halloween

This year we dressed up as a pirate family. S decided what we would dress up as last year the day after Halloween . . . All except for J. She decided that she wanted to be butterfly. Steve forgot to check with S about what type of pirate we were supposed to be. When Steve dressed up as a scary pirate she was not happy! He ended having to loose the scary teeth later that night, so we ended up being a happy friendly pirate family.

 

Happy fall

 J and I enjoyed decorating our front window. I am so excited it is fall. I miss the falls I used to have back in New England.

Swimming

The place we stayed at had a pool. Our girls love swimming in pools, and when we weren't playing at the beach we were swimming in the pool. S is like a little fish. She was enjoying swimming across the pool and trying to do a cannon ball. J enjoys the pool, but likes to swim in the hot tub even more. She is more of a warm water fish.

Beach

We spent a weekend at the beach. It was a much needed vacation after all the craziness of the start of the school year.

 

Kindergarten

My little girl started Kindergarten this year. She was so excited and is loving her teacher. I am glad she seems to like school. I don't know who was more nervous me or my little girl. On the first day of school she said that her favorite part of school was singing and dancing the Hokey Pokey.

Yosemite

We love Yosemite. We haven't been since before our girls, but when my parents mentioned they were going camping in Yosemite we decided to jump on their vacation and join them. 

 

 Two of my sisters and their families decided to come too. It was a mini family reunion. We found a fun swimming hole to swim in, and we did several hikes.

My parents loved the swimming hole and swimming with their grandchildren.

We hiked to the base of vernal falls.  Our girls were super hikers. We weren't sure how they would do but they were excited to hike and even wanted to carry the backpack with water in it.

 My family made it to the top of Nevada falls.

 

We had fun walking back down the trail. The girls tried to stay cool.

S found this spot. She told me to take a picture of her and J on this rock. She was right, it was a good place to take a picture.

Even though it was summer the nights were still cold. We ended up sharing sleeping bags with S and J to keep them warm.

 

The girls had fun playing with their cousins and aunts and uncles.

 J wanted to be just like her big cousin.

J took tips from mimi on how to take a good picture, but it was Aunt Joyce who actually got the shot of the bear!

The last day we were there we walked around the Mariposa Grove and looked at the big trees.

 We can't wait to go back, this may become a family tradition.
